When interpreting this, we need to remember that fear isn’t an absolute thing: It’s a sliding scale that stretches from being scared to death, at one extreme, to feeling a little uncomfortable (or ‘slightly out of our comfort zone’), at the other.
Given that we only experience personal growth when we step out of our comfort zone, I think Eleanor was encouraging us to do just that: To ‘step out of our comfort zone’ and strive towards personal growth, on a daily basis.
