Think BiG Thoughts No.9
Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.
~ Henry Ford
I’ve always seen myself as a lifelong learner and one of the real joys in my life is that I learn something new – or make a new distinction – every day. Probably, because I’m looking to learn.
I believe that we all have something to offer one another. That all of us have something we can teach other people but that everyone we meet – irrespective of their age (yes, this applies to children, as well) – has something to teach us. We just have to be open to it.
I created ‘rules’ in my life, many years ago, after hearing about the concept from Anthony Robbins. One of those rules helps me measure the quality of a day and has served me very well, indeed:
At the end of each day I look back and, providing I’ve learned something new – or made a new distinction – then I know that ‘today’ has been a good day!
And just in case you’re wondering ….. I still feel young! 😉
