We don’t always get what we want in life but, In general, we get what we expect.
The secret, then, is to raise our level of expectation.
~ Steve Bimpson
There’s a subtle difference between wanting to have something and whether or not we expect that something to happen.
That subtle difference is internal. It isn’t logical, it’s subconscious.
It’s a confidence, a ‘knowing’, an instinctive feeling inside of us that tells us, ‘this will happen’.
When we declare that we want something, at that time – internally – we don’t expect that it will happen. (If we did, it already would have happened!)
Our journey, then, is to continuously build up our levels of expectation, which we do by breaking down the things we want, in to as many tiny steps as possible (the tinier, the better) and then focusing SOLELY on the next small step (see Think BiG Thoughts #14 – Yesterday’s).
It really is quite a simple process and it’s a journey you should enjoy.
